The First Storm Warning
Apparently June and Hurricane Season are synonymous when it comes to life in Florida. And yes, I'm taking notes. Lots of them. This time of year is much different than what we experienced this past off-season. Usually, the rain pours for a good twenty minutes and vanishes just as quickly as it comes. Now, the story is completely rearranged. It rained all day. The entire day. All of it. And hard. Really hard. The torrential downpour wouldn't be compete, either, without a tornado watch and hurricane warning to accompany it. Call me paranoid, or maybe just a newbie, but there's no way I was going outside. Not yet. Not without Adam. And so, I flipped on the TV, got onto the computer, and ordered Alejandra and I some pizza. Delivery took two hours but we didn't care...just as long as we weren't the ones who had to drive in that mess!
By 8 PM, the rain had finally let up, so the two of us quickly made our way across the street to the movie theater. After being stuck in the room all day, cleaning it up, and packing our things, we were feeling desperate for some fresh air and change of scenery. We sat down just in time for Disney's BRAVE to begin and wow...what a great choice!! All I could think about the entire time was my four red-headed siblings, especially Shelby, and how much I'm missing them and my Mommy. XOXO
I still haven't decided if feet up in the movie theater is appropriate? I certainly wouldn't do that at someone's home, BUT, it's just so much more comfortable in those seats! Someone, anyone? I need answers.
After the movie, we ran over to FroYo as the rain began to pick up. If this treat is anywhere within reasonable distance from me, I won't say no. I can't. It's my newfound weakness, and really, I never feel too guilty about it! It was Alejandra's first taste of the low-calorie dessert and I think I made a fan out of her!!
