The Good Luck Charm
I am Adam's self-proclaimed good luck charm. Self-proclaimed. He chooses to disagree. Tonight, he told me that good luck charms are supposed to be ugly, "like sweaty rabbit foots." Ok, so maybe I don't quite fit into that category. But let's be real: he throws like a star whenever I'm around ;) Maybe he's just trying to show off...trying to keep me enamored by his masterful arsenal of lightening fast pitches. Hey, a girl can dream, right?!
*...Dreaming...*
Adam pitched a brilliant game tonight. Gosh, I love watching him play.
He threw a 7-inning shutout. 3 hits, 0 runs, 2 BB, and 6 K's. 90-95 MPH.
Well done, sweet friend. You amaze me.
Baseball is a dreamer's sport. It's romantic. It's personal. It's alive.
Scenes like this are magical.
I love sitting in the stands as the clouds fade purple and pink. The cotton candy man is making his third trip up the aisle, and the woman in front has had a bit too much to drink. Laughter is all around. Crowds are cheering, friends are flirting, children are dreaming. The air is beginning to cool, and fair weather fans soon realize their mistake. On the field, exhaustion sets in, as the pitcher strives for just one more inning. It's relentless passion.
I love this part of the game.
We ended our day Hibachi style. Mmmm. As usual, a few pranks were pulled during the "show," but this time, they took it maybe just a tiny bit too far.
Fact: Jose doesn't drink.
Fact: Jose starts tomorrow.
Well, Mr. Fire Dude didn't know either fact. During his show, he was constantly pouring a clear liquid solution onto our food. Naturally, I thought it was water. Alejandra and Jose did too. And so I asked our cook, "What is that stuff you're pouring onto our food?" He answered, "Water, of course." So, I was right! Ha! The man then turned to Jose, shook the bottle, and soon enough, he was squirting the "water" into Jose's mouth. Yeah. That's wasn't water. Not even close. Jose drank 2 shots of pure alcohol. Whoops?!
