The Harvey Picnic
What a day! It started at 8:30 AM and finally I'm laying in bed. It's 2:30 AM. Whew! Because of the time, and because of the festivities, I'll let the too many iPhotos I took do all the talking. Our dear friend and Grasshopper Booster, Bob, opened his wonderful, beautiful, and very large home to the team for a BBQ. He's a very intricate piece to each of our lives here in Greensboro, and we are SO THANKFUL for his kindness, friendship, respect, and care. We all enjoyed an amazing time with sweet friends and some delicious Southern cooking!!
Adam hadn't eaten since breakfast pancakes at 8:30 this morning. By the time he scarfed that BBQ chicken burger down, it was 5:30 and he was starving. That's what 12:30 PM day games will do to you!
This is a "fried green tomato!" I guess I never realized that they were actually real until tonight. Hmmm. An interesting combination.
Some of the Hoppers (reluctantly) squeezed together for my photo request. Notice their perfectly placed legs.
Bob, the Chef, made a few loaves of the most delicious bread I've ever had. Straight from the oven, the carbs melted away in my mouth.
No picnic would be complete without a game of catch. You'd think these boys would be sick of throwing after 11 innings today? No shot!
My two favorite boys in Greensboro!
He's my best friend. And yes, we will "produce" a first-rounder. Someday. Haha.
My main man won the ever-intense game of HORSE tonight. I like winners. Stud.
Bob being, well, Bob!
The only thing I thought of when I witnessed this happening was my Papa. Totally something he'd do!
And to cap off the BBQ, a nice game of golf!
I love this team.
I love these people.
I love this town.
