Day Two Hundred and Fifty-Three

The First L

Adam hates breakfast. Like, really hates it. But, usually I can win him over with biscuits and gravy. So, I thought I'd be an extra-good wife and surprise him with his favorite. Maybe he'll pitch even better today, I thought? Maybe I should have just stuck with goulash. He endured his first Loss this afternoon. It had to be the biscuits.

I joked with him after his game, saying that I must have fed him "The Breakfast of Losers" this morning. I said I was sorry. He laughed.

He did, however, look ultra-super-handsome during his pre-game bullpen (minus the old man saggy face). If that counts for anything? Maybe? Check out those locks! Also, I'm sure he'd secretly love it if I mentioned his brand new Rawlings glove. It's pretty "sick."

Adam pitched well today, though, the results might show otherwise. On a pitch count of 100, he threw 5 innings, gave up 3 hits, 1 earned run, walked 1, and struck out 6. When he came out of the game, there were runners on first and second. They both scored. That means, instead of 1 earned run on the day, he had 3. Lame. It wasn't his best outing. And yes, I cried. And though a few errors would've drastically changed the game, I was still bent over the loss. I think I agree with Adam, "I hate losing more than I love winning." So, let's keep winning, Babe!!
(That means: YOU HAVE TO THROW YOUR SLIDER MORE!!!!!)
As if I know anything, right?! Haha :)

Adam left for another 7-day road trip tonight, immediately following the game. Thankfully, I'm not alone this time. I have Addi, my knife, and 2 bottles of mace. And I'm not afraid to use any of them (Yes, even Addi. We did KenpoX tonight, so I know she can punch!).  Still, whenever he leaves, I stay up as late as I can just to make sure that by the time my head hits the pillow, I'm too tired to be afraid. Or miss him. And so, at 1:43 AM, he sent me this text because he knew I'd be awake. Gosh, I love him!
(143 means I Love You)
