Day One Hundred and Ninety-Six

The Newlywed BBQ

Look at all these beautiful married couples! AH! Can't get enough of them! After six months in Jupiter, we've finally found a group of Christian friends to begin sharing life with! (Nevermind the fact that we're moving to Greensboro in a week..). Buh! The Lord definitely answered our prayers, as we've been struggling to connect with young couples in the area who share the same stage in life as the two of us; Christian, married, without kids, under 30. It's slim pickings around here! BUT, look! Tonight, Family Church put together a "Young Couples Without Kids" BBQ. Turns out, there's way more couples than we even realized!! And, not everyone could show up! What a blessing. Seriously. I can't get over how faithful God is! Fellowship is such an integral part of our lives, but for a while, we struggled to connect. I even began to question whether or not we should find a new church; I was becoming so desperate for friendship. Clearly, God wanted us at Family Church, and he showed us that tonight. We had an incredible time with some amazing people. Over chicken and steak shish kabobs, grilled veggies, and this perfect rice and bean combination, we got to relax and kick back in a most comfortable atmosphere. I can't stop thinking (already) about how much I'll miss every single one of them while we're gone, but excited for our reunion...whenever that may be!
Oh, and I must say, this house was like stepping into Pinterest. Seriously. Ah-mazing. I told Jordan (her and her husband own the home), that she should pin every room of hers onto the website. It was that incredible.

And one more thing that struck a chord deep in me tonight:
A woman in our church name Jana Lettsome, a passionate servant of the Lord with such a beautiful heart, had a seizure this week while she was out jogging. They took her to the hospital, performed an MRI, and found a golf ball sized tumor in the front of her brain. Dad. That's exactly what happened to Dad. I struggled with this news, as it resonates so close to home. Monday, they'll perform surgery. I'd just ask everyone to say a prayer for her and her family, and also for my dad and our family. It doesn't take much for us to be reminded of how fragile this life is, and how, in an instant, things can change so dramatically.
