The Long Tossers
Spring Training 2012 has arrived. And while the Big League players took to the fields of Roger Dean Stadium, the Minor League players just took to the fields. Of any place they deemed appropriate. In an effort to accommodate the media and all the chaos that the start of Spring Training brings, the Marlins facility was closed to minor league players today. And so, to maintain the structure of their throwing program, Adam, Sean, and Tyler found an open field suitable for long toss. Really long toss. Before this year, Adam's throwing program only required three days of long toss per week, and now, he's required five. And from what I've seen and heard, his arm has reacted very well to the change. It seems, to me at least, that the ball just goes and goes and then goes some more. It's possible that he threw the entire length of a football field today. That. Is. Crazy. A football field! 100 yards! I haven't seen him pitch in almost 6 months, but he's much bigger, his arm is much stronger, and he sleeps in a really comfy bed, so if my calculations are correct, and they're always correct, he should at least be up to 106 MPH by now. Aroldis Champin style. If not, well, there's always the couch...
AND HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY GRANDPA MEL!
We love you! ;)
