The Difference Between Northwest and Southeast
So Fox News Channel is a regular in our home. And while we might be 4,000 miles away from the only life that we've ever known, it wasn't far from us today. Not far at all. Headlining the broadcast was a constant influx of odd scenes depicting a completely white Seattle! More snow in one day than they get in an entire year! Wow. Facebook has been quite active today, and we're loving the updates! Last I heard, Olympia had 10 inches and in Pullman, class is cancelled for tomorrow. It's not often that WSU shuts down campus; I think I remember 3 times total in my 5 years of undergrad! It's times like these that maybe my heart softens a bit and starts missing the days of snow in Washington. But then I think of the aftermath, in its sloppy madness, and reminds me that maybe I don't miss it so much after all. Sunshine is my thing. And meanwhile, in Jupiter, the scene looked a bit different. As different as possible, actually. Today's high was 75, and the only thing reminiscent of snow were a few clouds that spotted the bright blue sky. We're liking this January sunshine thing, and though I might harbor a small ounce of envy for those enjoying hot cocoa, warm fires, dripping icicles, and cozy mittens, the scene down here surely has us wrapped up in it.
