Day Eighty-Four

The Christmas Yacht Parade

I never guessed I'd ever witness something quite like this. When you've got summertime weather all year-round, things start to look a little differently during the holidays. No snow. No ice. No white. It's all sunshine. All the time. (Except for when it rains, of course). So, to kick off the season Florida-style, the city threw us a Christmas parade. On the water! The yachts dressed themselves up in playful lights and marched slowly down the lane. It was a nice send-off before our long journey to the Northwest tomorrow! We spent the entire day cleaning, eating, and packing, packing, packing! We realized while searching desperately through our closets, that the attire we now own isn't winter-friendly whatsoever, so this trip might turn out to be a bit colder than we're anticipating. It's hard to believe, but after living in Jupiter only 3 months, we've become so accustomed to the weather that 70 degrees calls for pants and sweaters! I might just show up in Washington as a popsicle.

As for the state of our apartment? Spotless. For real this time! No leftover hamburger grease in this house! Hopefully when we arrive back home after 10 days, it'll look exactly as we left it. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see...
