Day Thirty-Five

The Firework Surprise

This town's priority is in serving its community. They celebrate. They create. They're filled with life and find fun ways to enjoy it. While finishing up my makeup and hair before tonight's final ALCS game between the Tigers and Rangers, I was startled by a loud boom. Then another. Followed by more foreign crackling sounds, I asked Adam to check outside, and he came back with surprisingly good news. Fireworks. Right outside our front door. And what a show it was! For a few moments, I was back in an old memory. July 4, 2010 was the day Adam and I started dating. Laying on a hammock. Fireworks in the background. Warm Olympia weather. That summer was one of my favorites, and I was happy to be reminded of it tonight. This place just keeps giving us more and more to love, and we're so thankful to be living here.
And just because it's important to Adam: Rangers 15, Tigers 5. Texas is headed back to the World Series.
