Day 4,348

The Winter Farm Update

So, the plan presently is to build our barn on our property as soon as we can, and then to begin the process of our home build sometime this year. Nothing is set in stone--to be sure--but tentatively, that's what's before us. Well, we've never before gone through any sort of process like this, and let me be the first one to admit...it's a process. And one that's a lot more involved than I initially knew. Especially since we're doing the general contracting ourselves. At this point in our preparation for the barn, we're at a standstill until we are able to receive our agricultural classification. What we thought would be January has been moved to April, so...we're halted for a little while. And honestly, is not something we're at all worried or anxious about. After all this time and with as much that's happened in the last year and a half, we're just excited to have the land and are waiting patiently for whatever and however the Lord might use it. It's been a fun project to get our hands dirty on, to play on, to work on, and run on. And Lord willing, one day, it'll be a home and workplace that we can live in. Until then, we're so loving and at home in our Conley Cottage, as it daily becomes more and more special to our family.

There remains a few items on the checklist for us mark off, and installing a silt screen and an orange boundary fence was something we were able to get done in just a couple hours, with the whole family involved!
