The Day That Changed in an Instant
It was a quiet afternoon.
Until the dogs got out.
Our children learned the hard way that one small act of disobedience can have incredible consequences. This time, they did not check to see if the latch was closed on the fence.
And because of one seemingly small disobedience, they all four watched Fellar get hit by a car.

It was the most frightening ordeal they’d ever witnessed. Fellar was screaming in pain, and scared out of his mind, he tried running back to us, limping immediately. The car didn’t stop to check on him, which added insult to injury—especially in the eyes of our children. Thankfully, we couldn’t find any broken bones on his X-ray. And though he’s laid up and in extreme pain still, the kids surely learned their lesson today.

We were given instruction to keep him in his crate again and so, our little pup was separated from us while he rested from his thankfully-non-life-threatening injury.
