The Day of Many Thanks
Happy Thanksgiving!
Daddy went to work.
And we went to work.
And while we prepared the cold food for our feast, Dad prepared the floor for our new kitchen!
Ta-da!
Though we were missing most of our typical Thanksgiving necessities (nearly everything is still in storage), we made it work with what we had and made the best memories (and food!) in the process.
“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything, give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
This year, I’m especially thankful for the recognition of God’s specific, unique, and intimate working in the lives of His people. Never before have I seen the Lord so clearly present in the ordinary moments of daily life, and as a result, my trust and faith in His faithfulness has grown tremendously.
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28. I’m still working on the “all” part of that verse—as it includes everything from the good AND the bad, the happy AND the sad. But it’s a labor worthy of my focus, and after a year like this one, it’s been my continual comfort and cause for rejoicing.
Gimme all that!!
