The End of a Chapter, The Beginning of Another
Surprise drug tests are still a thing, even after being released by the Rays a few days ago. Adam is currently a free agent. But after considerable thought, prayer, reflection, and wisdom from those with more of it than we have, Adam is actually going to retire. The official retiring process is not yet finished, but his confidence in his decision is. With much before us, and so much going on around us, I’ve not had much time to write, but in a few days, I’ll better explain how we came to our decision and what’s maybe next for this clan of Conleys.
Life continues, and Friday certainly did. Adam left toothpaste in the sink and was jokingly given 30 push-ups for the obscene wrongdoing. Now that his arm doesn’t have to be protected in the same way it has for over 20 years, he got down and pumped them out in no time. I laughed. Then I cried.
Tears dried, we soon found ourselves at Bass Pro. Dad is leaving for the week to hunt with his dad in Georgia and needed some last minute items that he wasn’t able to dig up in the storage unit. So we made it a family affair and all of us got to enjoy the gigantic aquarium store together!
And being that the floor store was right next door, we picked out our new vinyl flooring for the Cottage! Rumor has it that we close on Friday, and we can’t wait!
Then it was time for the Stuart air show, which we we able to watch for a half hour before heading to our church’s marriage conference!
One of our favorite weekends of the whole year. There’s a lot to be worked through over the next couple months (and years), and this couldn’t have come at a better time. We’re so thankful for the church that God so mercifully and specifically knit us together with. His kindness is all around me and even when I’m tempted to forget it in difficult moments, He’s gracious to remind me again.
