The Creative, Cozy Quarter
It was a creative—and especially messy—day at school yesterday.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it—that’s at least how the saying goes, and mess or not, they were quiet, having fun, AND getting bigger brains. So, carry on creative ones!

And smile big while you’re at it.

We also gave endless cuddles yesterday

Most were expected. But the ones on the couch at 10:30 PM were not.

But...Ella Mae.

She came out of her room choking and spitting up around 9:15. We grabbed her, held her upside down, and pounded on her back until she stopped. When we stood her back up, she looked at us and said, “I ate money.”
I placed some coins in front of her, and very adamantly, she chose the quarter. So, we loaded her up, and Mommy and Daddy had a date in the ER. We were in and out of there in a little more than an hour, and sure enough, her confession of swallowing a quarter was precisely accurate.
Thankfully, it’s in her stomach and should pass in the next day or two. In preparation, a friend gave us a toddler toilet, so the next time she goes, you can sure imagine what this mommy will be digging for. Aye.
This parenting thing is not for the faint of heart. And last night, I was thankful for countless mercies that saw us all home safely and laughing and with renewed perspective of the gift of parenthood. God is kind.
