The 2020 Christmas Program and A Big Surprise
Merry Children’s Christmas Program!!
This year, of the FORTY-FIVE(!!!) children singing, three of them were ours! And what a joy it was to sit and hear them sing truths and praises to our King! We are so blessed by this ministry and thankful to the Lord for each one of these souls.
Our church has another group of babes not far behind and we’re definitely looking forward to enjoying all four of our children singing together on this special day in the years to come. Merry Christmas from our CBC kids!

Life update:
It’s been such an interesting yet smooth offseason while working through the free agency process for the first time. After speaking with many teams both in the MLB and in the NPB (the Japanese professional baseball league) and truly thankful for each offer received, we are SO happy and grateful to announce that Adam has signed with the Rakuten Golden Eagles of Sendai, JAPAN!!!
You read it! We’re going to Japan in January!
We’ll be flying to Tokyo and traveling north an hour and a half to the city of Sendai on January 19. Once arrived, we’ll have a 14 day quarantine in the team hotel and then hop on a plane to the tiny island of Okinawa for Spring Training! The season will begin early April and extend into mid-October, with the Olympics being the cause for a two week delay mid-season.

We are excited for this rare opportunity and anticipate all the ways in which the Lord will use it to bring glory to His name. As we continue preparing for our departure, we are focusing most closely on what it looks like to maintain relationship and service to our church body, as leaving for such a long period of time will take work and faithfulness to remain tethered. Over the past five season, we’ve been greatly blessed to have been with the Marlins, as it’s afforded us the ability to travel back and forth each week to our home and church while Adam is on the road. Once he was designated, we knew this upcoming season would bring with it the potential for distance and new challenges, but I can’t say we were expecting a literal ocean to separate us from our home and church. But, here we are! And it’s pieced together so smoothly, bringing with it a settling peace about our decision.
We have TONS to do and plan before we leave...IN A MONTH(!!), so it’ll be a bit of a whirlwind around here. If you have any tips regarding living in Japan, I’m all ears!
Thank you to the Rakuten Golden Eagles, our agent Joe Urbon, and all the people who helped make this unexpected offer a reality! We are excited, a bit anxious, and truly thankful for the opportunity ahead of us.
GO EAGLES!!
Aaaaaaand, goodnight.
