The First Christmas with Cousins
With three of our five cousins here for Christmas, it was very Merry Christmas, indeed!
Hail the Heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! the herald angels sing:
"Glory to the newborn King!"
On Christmas, I am reminded so clearly about the reconciliation of my own heart to God. Jesus came to earth to live the perfect life I couldn’t live in order that he would become the perfect sacrifice for my own sin. His sinless shed blood on the cross satisfied God’s justifiable wrath against sinners, purchasing men from Hell and giving them life everlasting in Heaven. And by raising on the third day, He proved the validity of His sacrifice and deity. This is what and whom I live for and the precious celebration we enjoy at Christmas. He was born that I might not die. WHAT a beautiful, merciful, gracious and loving God.
Merry Christmas!
