Day 3,310

The Braves Boy

Just one week into the season and it’s already game time! Bearett loves his new Braves team and is so excited to be playing again—especially after having to miss out on his Spring team.

Though this age group is still at that silly/awkward stage of development, the game has definitely sped up a bit and he’s understanding it with more focus and certainty. Long gone are the days of 7 players fielding the same ball and then sitting in the grass crying when they’re not the ones coming out of the pile with it! He’s still learning the field and where the plays are made, but it’s so impressive how much better he is already!

Bub’s favorite part though has always been hitting. He loves getting in the box and “crushing the ball.” Before the game and in the week leading up to it, he would remind me, “Mom, I’m gonna get a homerun. I prayed to God and asked him to let me hit one.” It seems we have some work to do in the realm of prayer life instruction, but the sentiment was adorable.

The girls too are excited to see Bubba on the baseball field again. Their little shouts of encouragement and “Good job Bub!” are so sweet to witness. Teaching them how to support their brother has been quite the reasonable and easy task—our babes, though they fight often, really do a genuine job of encouraging and loving one another. And a mama loves to hear it.

Nice work, Bearett!
We can’t wait to watch you this season!
(And yes, post game snack and juice is still all the craze—a rite of passage for every generation of little league boy)

Also on THIS day and not yesterday, just wanted to shout out to Grandma Katy a happy birthday wish! Happy birthday :) We love you.
