The Spilled Beans
EVERY morning, from multiple miniature voices:
“MAAAHM! Can I make you coffee?! Can I have cocoa coffee? Can they have cocoa coffee? Can I help? I wanna do it! Please?! I spilled!”
I must be quite lucky to have so many AND so pretty helpful baristas living under my own roof!
Once we’ve fueled up with breakfast and coffee, it’s school time. Now, we’ve mostly been sucking on finding a steady routine—as far as a starting time is considered—so some days we’re done by 11 and other days, we haven’t even begun. I suppose that’s part of the beauty of homeschooling, however, I’m gonna need to tighten some stuff up around here because I think my kids need a little more familiar and anticipated schedule.
I’ll maybe cut myself a tiny bit of slack. Most students don’t homeschool between two homes during a Major League Baseball season amidst a pandemic. Still, I have loose ends to shore up. I accidentally left at least two of Bearett’s school books in Miami and my pencil sharpener is there too. Even still, we’re making due with what we can and TRYING to honor the Lord by doing it well. It doesn’t always turn out that way, but I will absolutely say that with or without all the books, with or without sharp and pointy pencils, and with or without the most routine routine, we are thankful we have this opportunity because we love teaching our babes and they love learning at home.
I love watching their bonds strengthen and their friendships deepen. They’re each other’s best friends and I do pray that over the years of constant interaction and play, that their relationships only grow even more genuine and sincere.
Thank you, Lord, for this absolutely beautiful family. I am overwhelmed by the gifts You’ve so graciously given me and pray that I honor and glorify You with them all the days of my life.

Baseball update:
Adam is pitching in his second simulated game tomorrow. A simulated game basically means that tomorrow, he’ll be pitching against real hitters (his other COVID teammates), but without a full defense behind him. I don’t think there are umpires either tomorrow—I’d ask him but it’s 1AM right now and he’s asleep next to me. Anyways, we have no timeline yet for his return. Only two of eighteen players have returned to Miami, neither of them pitchers. So, we’ll see!
