Day 3,220

The Fourth (Ok, Fifth) of July, Quarantine Style

The Fourth of July wasn’t anything in Miami. Literally, nothing. All the shows were cancelled. Marlins baseball was obviously not hosting. And the ones in the streets weren’t even visible from our little home. The kids were bummed. But the parents had a plan.

If you’ve learned anything from this blog in the last almost-four years, it’s that we absolutely love the church body the Lord has graciously led us into. Each year, it gets harder to leave for season because of how much more intimate our growth and relationships become. These people are our family. And to the extent that the children know it and feel it too. So, when we surprised them with an hour and a half car ride BACK home, where CBC was hosting a fireworks night in place of our regular 6:30 evening service, the kids were SO excited!

We got to share supper with our friends.

And play and play and play.

And even though the kickball game was cancelled due to rain, our babes got their fireworks.

(She was no fan of fireworks. Oops)

And they got their fireworks alongside some of their dearest friends at the place they love to spend their time. Thank you, CBC!
And Happy Independence Day, America!
We are truly, so thankful for the freedoms we have been granted in this country.
