The Conley Quarantine: Day 26
Thankful for pretty monkeys who always keep life light and entertaining. Even during a pandemic.
We’re still managing our quarantine quite well, even though the feeling of “stir crazy” has come upon us more strongly in the past week or so. Thankfully, as native Floridians, my children have enjoyed the benefits of perpetual summer and have spent much of their time utilizing every inch of our backyard. We are grateful.
And cmon, how could you not be grateful for this too?!
SINCE WHEN?
I was maybe a junior in high school the last time I ever saw gas this cheap. 15 years ago? No joke, the first full year we lived in Jupiter - 2012 - we were filling the truck (36 gallons) with gas costing $4.50/gallon!
Lastly, we’re thankful for TIME.
Lastly, we’re thankful for TIME.
Specifically THIS time.
In the Bible. With our Dad.
It’s just so special to us.
And in general too, through the shutdown, we’ve been so grateful for all the extra time we’ve gotten to spend with Daddy. By now, he’d probably have already been gone on his third away series. Four kids at the age they are, right in the middle of the school year, and without Adam for a week at a time feels so foreign and honestly, terrifying to this Mama. I truly have no idea how I would’ve managed such a drastic transition into baseball season this year. Unlike years past, juggling school with two students, a whiny toddler, and a walking baby who jumps into the water all by herself, I can imagine myself being overmatched and overwhelmed by all of it, on top of traveling, missing Adam, and properly caring for two homes while still being tethered to our church. All that to say, I’m especially grateful to have Adam home even though it’s not necessarily ideal for his career. But if it would’ve happened at any time, we’re actually quite thankful it was now. We’re excited to hopefully open the season and the country back up, but goodness, what a special month and a half we’ve had together.
