Day 3,110

The Coronavirus Hates Warm Swimming Pools

You can imagine our reaction when we pulled up to our community pool and the thing had been shut down “for the foreseeable future.” Four puzzled, grumpy kids with their suits on and no understanding of why we can’t...do anything swim. It was not a good moment for the parents of said children. A hard lesson for sure. No warm community pool for us. And for a few minutes, no cold home pool for Bub either. We’ve been explaining to him over the last year that his “sin separates,” and this week has been one he’s seeing the consequences of his actions from the confines of this sitting out position very clearly. And often. He’s learning, indeed. But being a six year old wild boy is hard sometimes! Thankfully, sin’s consequences can never outrun God’s forgiveness and grace, and within minutes, he was jumping cannonball style into a 77 degree pool with glee. Totally forgiven. Coronavirus: you won’t beat us.

Even if Daddy has to workout poolside and in front of a Conley audience, we will not relent!

Right, Molly?
....mmmmmmmmm...RIGHT!

In other news, this is what happens when an almost-three-year-old refuses to fall asleep during her nap time. 5:45 and the girl passed out in the car on the way to supper with friends. This was her interaction with her best friend when we showed up to her house. Good talk.
