Day 2,853

The Fourth from Home!

So, our Fourth of July started off like this.

My girl got bit on her eye the night before and woke up with symptoms that kept us from enjoying the night we initially had planned.

We decided to stay home instead of leaving to the mosquito infested Florida nights. Perk: we got to see Dada pitchin on the special day that him and I started dating 9 years ago!

We found fun things to do. For sure.

One of those fun things was watching our across-the-pond-neighbor make a floating boat FILLED with fireworks.

Safe in our screened in patio, I made an all-American feast while the kiddies swam their hearts out.

Not bad for a mama who never uses the grill!

With full bellies, we awaited the much-anticipated barge of firework boxes floating in our pond.

AND OH MY WORD, WHAT A SHOW!!!!!!
And from our pool!
In the last 9 years, I’ve probably seen at least fifty firework displays - thank you, Baseball! And besides the fireworks that went off the night Adam and I started dating, I’ll say almost without hesitation that this was the most incredible show I’ve ever experienced! Truly a professional and shocking display, from the comfort of our home. It was the pick me up we needed after getting sidelined by Sissy’s eye and being away from our Daddy!

Happy Fourth!
We are one grateful family for the sacrifices heroes have made in order for us to enjoy the freedoms we have as Americans.
