The Quick Learners
My morning baristas.
Ella Mae likes to make me my coffee every morning and now that she’s a professional, she’s teaching the big kids.
Speaking of teaching, this is my new normal most days. Little Molly lays right at my feet while Bearett does school. So far, it’s gone...pretty well. We’ve got a whole lot more distractions, so it takes us a little longer, but what’s time anyways?!
One thing’s for sure: they’re definitely learning. Yesterday, Ella Mae kept saying “Circa! Circa!” And there she sat, drawing CIRCLES on her paper and both knowing the name and the shape of the shape without me ever having taught her either. Kid’s a whiz, my goodness! She’s got her ABCs down and can currently count to 11, skips 12, but follows with 13.
It’s such a treat watching them learn. It’s slow at times and maybe it doesn’t seem like much is registering, but once you step back a little bit, it’s almost shocking just how incredible and fast these little minds, hearts, and bodies mature. Bearett finally caught a hard baseball as a catcher for the first time yesterday. We were pumped.
Ella Mae then had to get in on the action.
She was happy to field grounders, though her glove was a bit oversized. It was cuter that way anyways!
We’re having a blast (most of the time) here at the Conley house and learning lots.
