Day 2,253

The Musical Bridge Man

On the bridge crossing, right before you touch the pavement outside historic Fenway Park, there sat a man banging on an array of unsuspecting drum pieces, getting the massive crowds even more pumped up than they already were. He had all sorts of random items he used to make his lively music, even including the metal crash railing that keeps motorists from falling over the bridge wall and onto the freeway below during a wreck. That was the kids’ favorite sound he made. That “ting ting” of the metal barricade. And apparently, he made an impression on them of greater significance than I realized before yesterday, when the two big kids flipped their random toys over poolside and started making music “just like that Boston man on the bridge!” Of course, Ella Mae followed suit and they were all banging around, making music to the Lord with giant smiles across their faces.

These are the things I love most about traveling.
