The Home Debut of 2018
“Dad’s warming up in the pen, guys!”
Bearett: “Good thing I have my binoculars. I’ve found that wearing them backwards gives me no added benefit to seeing far, but I’m only four, so it doesn’t matter.”
“There he is, guys! Look up on that big tv up there!”
Amelia: “GOOOO DADA! He’s so handsome.”
Ella Mae: “Dada, you better pitch well enough to get me a life’s worth of these here chicken tenders from your chef.”
Ella Mae: “WAY TO GO DAD! I can taste the lifetime supply on the horizon!”
________
Dad made his 2018 marlins debut at home yesterday and was called on to enter the game in the seventh with the bases loaded and no outs. There’s so much to say about his new role - and what exactly it is - but I’ll have more time another night. We’re leaving for San Diego tomorrow morning and this mama needs sleep. Just know that he’s well, he’s pitching well, and that he’s looking forward to what it is that lies ahead of us in regards to his role.
