The Dean Debut 2018

Finally saw Dada play on our own turf. 

And thank goodness for that! 

We felt mostly this way about the whole day. We took a nap before the game, got Dippin Dots, and watched Dad reclaim his old ways. I think that’s deserving of like, a million exclamation points!!!!!!

He threw three innings in the game and one in the pen. For the first time in a long time, his velocity sat 92-93 and touched 94 a few times. He broke bats. Got softer contact. It was refreshing for well, probably everyone, but definitely for Adam, as he’s seeing things come together after a season of struggle. He’s still got a lot of work ahead of him. The slider grip is new and moves differently now, so he’s getting a feel for it. And he wants to continue seeing 3s and 4s on the radar, but we’re hopeful that the extensive amount of work and effort put into this offseason bears fruit. 



We’re ready for whatever lies ahead of us and feel more prepared in every facet when comparing this year to last. Wherever we go, we trust the Lord to continue refining us into His image and giving us opportunities to share the Reason for our joy. Because truly, that’s what this life is for. And we’re entering this season with that mentality. 

(Pictured above: a fan asked Adam to sign his bobblehead and before he could put away his signed bobblehead, Bearett asked the man for the man’s autograph! Baffled, the man exclaimed, “Nobody’s ever asked me that question before! I’ll sign it right on the sweet spot of your ball!” Bearett is still learning the ropes, but you know what? His innocence is so completely riveting and precious and what a joy it is to watch him bring light to those around him. He melts me.
