Day 2,327

The Second Pen

We wish we could always hang at the field with him! He teaches us lots of things. Like how to work hard and how to do arm circles.

We love watching him do what he loves. It gives us bigfat smiles. This might have been our last family outing to the field to play catch WITH Dad (I’ve been playing catch with him most of the offseason), so we made sure to make it extra fun!

Dad threw his second bullpen of the offseason, this after Bearett’s bullpen, of course. They both threw great!

It was extraordinarily windy, but Dad’s made bigger strides (literally and metaphorically) in the past few days than maybe ever before. He feels a life in his mechanics that he’s been without for quite some time and it’s really such an encouragement, especially after our year last season.

Thank you for coming down to help us, Papa Pete! We appreciate you so much, but love you even more.

I’ll bet they never imagined that this is the picture of what “10 years later” would look like when they first met when Adam was 17. How great is our God?!

He far greater than we could ever imagine, friends. Truly.

And Aiden’s two year old birthday party last night was pretty great too.

Overheard:

Amelia from the other room: “Mom! Dad!”
Adam to me: “Watch, she’s gonna come running out of her room claiming something ridiculous.”
Amelia running to us with her hand closed in a book: “Mom, I have no arm!!!”
_____

Amelia praying (unprompted) for a specific someone (MLM):
“And Lord Jesus, please save MLM. Catch her in your wings and rescue her.”
