The Wittgrens
A busy day was yesterday. We finished our great big hymn music sheet that Adam and I are basically obsessed with. Ah! Such a joy seeing this truth displayed as a reminder throughout our day!!
What began as a very simple idea morphed in to a far more complicated project that took up countless hours to master. Truth is too, that it’s not yet even mastered either. Guess I’ll just have to make more in order to satisfy my perfectionist’s tendencies ;)
We had a mostly normal morning routine, which now consists of our two year old insisting that she can brush her own teeth. I mean, pretty good there, Darlin. This girl, I swear, could pass for a four year old. Easily. She kills us every day with her wit, intellect, and hilarious hand gestures. She’s something else, this one.
Lots of shenanigans always between these two. They LOVE each other so much. She lets him toss her around every morning and he lets her grab his face into contortion whenever she pleases. It’s really the best match.
Here’s where it got interesting. At 4 PM, Adam and I did the craziest thing we’ve done in, uh, like at least a year. We left ALL our babes with Mr. and Mrs. Yingling and went to a wedding until 8:20. Alone! Truth is, I was shaking and nervous much of the time, and probably won’t be gone for that long again, but our babes did so well. It was Ella Mae that I was concerned with. She’s not yet taken a bottle ever and is only eating a few solids. But last night, she showed her mama so much grace and drank the whole thing! We were shocked, but this girl has always made it easy on us, so I don’t know why I expected anything less from her this time!! Thank you so much baby girl. And thank you to the Yinglings for graciously serving us so we could finally spend just a little bit of time together!
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Wittgren! We are excited for the both of you to enjoy the freedoms that come with a life alongside your spouse. Marriage is so beautiful and truly the sweetest blessing. We’ll spend our lives making it our masterpiece and our prayer and hope is that you both will too.
And since we’ve become unseasoned when it comes to nights out alone, Adam and I were so excited just to BE together that we didn’t even get a photo of us. However, if you look closely...beyond Ashley’s head, there we are! Good enough!
