Day 2,186

The Attempt at Normalcy During Evacuation

Trying to maintain a similar routine in order to keep these kiddies familiar with the expectations we set at home. We weren't planning on anymore trips this year because...well because of a lot of things. But there's sort of a monster hurricane headed for our house and staying wasn't an option. So, we did school work, had quiet time, skipped the game, and went swimming!! The kids learned a thing or two about noodles last night. First, they used them as fishing rods...

Then I explained to them that the noodles will float with a person laying on them. I had to get up from my cozy spot with Ella Mae to make them believe me.

But as soon as they realized I was telling the truth: game changer. Bearett jumped on the noodle and floated away yelling, "I'm a navy seal, Amelia!! I'll rescue a noodle for you! I'm a navy seal!!!" Love him. Meanwhile, Amelia wasn't amused with the noodles and actually cried when I showed her she could float on one. We called her a navy chicken last night.

Bedtime is always a cuddle fest and hotels can't change that fact. Our boy loves him some Ella Mae snuggles.

He made her a bed to lay on and immediately, Amelia came barreling in to call a spot of her own. These three really get along so well. Such a blessing!

I love these kids unlike I ever knew I could. Nightly, this is where you can find me and though it's exhausting at times, trying to get them all to sleep, I really do love this time with them.

As of yesterday, these were a few of the screenshots I took regarding the looming hurricane. It's really not looking good for any of the people in it's path. We've been praying constantly and checking Twitter at least hourly for updates. Please continue praying over the people already affected and for those who's lives will change dramatically once this bears down on our country.

Florida evacuation. Possibly the largest evacuation in Florida's history.

Our home city this season. Miami Beach is preparing for the worst and as of now, we're not confident if we'll be able to return for a while. The Lord knows, and whatever happens, we trust Him faithfully. Stay safe, my friends.
