The beach is the best, Sis!!
We FINALLY made a believer out of her! Big Sis is all about the ocean now, which is a HUGE step in the right direction...considering the girl was born in Florida and lives on the beach half the year. Weeee! Mama is SO happy! All she needed was a bit of peer pressure, an unusually calm night of waves, and a little bit of the fact that she "doesn't have to swim in the ocean." We'll confront that issue later. For now, counting this as a victory!
Counting this as a victory as well! Nine baseball babes - yes, just one boy - all sitting AND smiling/looking at the camera!
We got all of the kids and a few of the wives together last night to say farewell - never goodbye - to one of our favorite baseball mamas as they pack up their lives in Miami and move on to...the Seattle Mariners. (Hey, Washington family - you have someone new to cheer for!) One of our relievers was traded to the M's two days ago and though this is all apart of the game, it's never easy. Maria is one of the dearest, most likeminded Mamas I've been able to bond with over the past couple years. She shares many of our parenting choices and I'm going to miss her immediate input, her wisdom, and her gentleness. I'm grateful that only a text or phone call separates us, but her presence will absolutely be missed. Love you Phelpsies!!
