The Fifth Cake Start
Adam grew a few inches before his start yesterday. And it took two men to do it! He's now seen this local chiropractor three times since being here and though it's different than what we're used to, we're grateful for the effective adjustments. Adam is feeling great and his body is responding well to the care they've provided him.
Doctor was kind enough to not only adjust Dada on short notice, but the whole family too! Afterwards, the girls took a solid nap and when I came in from showering, this is how I found them. Best friends in the making. I can't wait.
It was chilly and stormy here yesterday - a welcomed change without the rain in NOLA - and so we finally got to pull out our special matching outfits and wear them for Daddy's fifth start!
We got there early enough for introductions and the national anthem, to which Amelia directed like a choir conductor. I don't know where she learned this, but it doesn't surprise me. This girl is a singer/songwriter/musician/dancer in the making. Mark my words.
Maybe the two of them will play and sing music together professionally one day. Maybe they won't. But what they for sure are doing for now is watching Dada perform professionally. And I'd say they've got quite the role model to look up to, regardless of what they choose to do later in life.
Dad had his best outing yet last night. He's figured a lot out since being here and you can tell the difference watching him throw. Things are smoother, more repetitive, and faster paced. It was fun to see him taste some normalcy again and I'm looking forward to more progress. It's been a hard month, but the fruits of his labor are obvious - in baseball but in life and in our faith as well. So incredibly proud of him.
