Day Two Thousand and Sixty

The Fifth Start and First for Mama

It's late, so I'll be brief.
Last night, the Marlins wives played the Rays wives in a charity softball game on the field at Tropicana Park. It was TONS of fun, but even more nerve wracking - performing a game I haven't played since 8th grade in front of 50 big leaguers was just a TINY bit terrifying. But still, five weeks post partum and trying desperately to control my anxiousness and not pee my pants, I tried my best to help achieve victory with my girls. I fully expected to hit a home run and play a bit better than I did, but maybe that's what next year is for. For now, we're slightly sore losers, as we lost 11-12 in walk off fashion.

I can't wait to play again though. It was such a fun time and gave us all - wives AND husbands - a break from the grind of baseball. I love too that this time, Amelia could watch Daddy cheering Mommy on - something that's so important for her to see.

Mama's little cheerleader!
Let's go Fish!

She HATED cheering for Mommy from the stands. Even from the cozy lap of Auntie Alejandra.

So, we let her on the field and it was all smiles from then on out!!
Love my fan club! Best looking one around!!

Baseball babes for life!

Ella Mae met one of Mama's dearest friends yesterday. She told me she fell in love with Ale's smile.

Me too, Sissy. Me too.

Hit a homerun, Mom!

Sorry, Kid. Only singles and outs for Mama this time.

Maybe the coolest thing about yesterday is that the kiddies got to cheer on BOTH of us. Daddy pitched in his fifth start too! He had one rough inning, but other than that, pitched well. He's close to "figuring it out," and I can't wait until he turns that corner and we see him going deeper into games.

5.1IP, 5H, 5R, 2ER, 3BB, 5K, and the W.
He's 2-2 with a 6.12 ERA
____________

Shoutout to my sister Ellie once again for helping me watch my babies from the stands while I enjoyed our softball game. We're more thankful for your help than you know.
