Day Fifteen Hundred and Twenty-Three

The Homeowning Projects

Before we were cleared by our HOA to move into our new house, they made us promise that we'd replace a few dead plants out front and re-mulch. We of course obliged, but at the time, I never once considered what choosing plants and flowers for our yard would entail. How am I supposed to know what to choose??!

Enter: Miss Dana.

Who once started off as a fellow gym-goer has now become a dear friend of mine and yesterday, the two of us and Millie went for a walk around a local neighborhood. Dana and her green thumb wanted to educate me on the common (and gorgeous) plants that thrive in South Florida...and we both wanted to hang out!

And so, we walked and talked.

And we saw TONS of beautiful species.

And we picked out tons that we liked! Dana said, "Hey, at least your consistent with what you like," as she rattled off plant name after plant name when I pointed them out! The woman sure knows her stuff and we're so very grateful for all the help and tips she's given to us along the way! She's got quite the extensive plant collection herself and you bet I tried my best to keep up with all the information she was pouring into me!!

Amelia too!

Who knew there was so much to know?! I mean, I've just never actually considered what it would really be like to have a garden of my own, and now with her help - and some from Grama too - The Conleys are going to have the most beautiful garden in the neighborhood!

One of my favorites!

Another two of my favorites!
:)
When we got home, Adam sanded more of the chair...

And Amelia and I decided it was finally time to tackle the closet. Dun dun duuuunnnn!
