The First Time They Met
Bye bye Georgia!!
We took the back roads on our way to Kentucky yesterday.
The really really real back roads.
Complete with ancient gas stations, Confederate flags, and...
...donkeys for sale.
Yes, that's right.
Donkeys for sale.
I guess, someone has to sell them?
The winding roads were good to us.
Amelia slept for a reasonable portion of it, and though I had to ride next to her for much of it (the girl likes my hand on her face when she sleeps in the truck...whatever works, right?), the easy conversation with Adam was a very welcomed one.
We arrived in Lexington, Kentucky at 8PM to the biggest, most excited and cheerful smile greeting us at the front door. Auntie Kim had been waiting all day for us - and actually, she'd been waiting since February! Well, technically even before that! Last time we saw Auntie, Amelia was still in my tummy and her and I were busy crafting things for Little Lady to use and wear once born. Ever since, she's been watching Amelia from the blog, waiting patiently and desperately to meet her first great niece for the very first time. Last night, an instant bond was created and my heart filled just a little bit more. We are so blessed by Kim and all she's done and been for our Littlest Love. The love she has for Amelia is obvious and grand and I'm so thankful that Millie has such a tremendous woman to look up to. We love you Auntie!!
And Millie says, "Thanks for all my new toys! When I learn to walk, I'll give all the credit to you!"
