Day Fourteen Hundred and Sixty

The Fourth Year

I did. I do. And I always will.
For as long as I live.
I made a vow to honor and serve and cherish and love the man you are, and for four years, you've made doing that so easy. So fun. So exciting. And so fulfilling! My days are brighter and happier because you're in them and every day, I thank God that He captured your heart when He did. You're the greatest, most honorable, honest, and trustworthy, hard working man I've ever known and daily, I feel strengthened and encouraged by the husband you are to me. You've helped shape me closer and closer to the image of Christ, and I know we'll spend the next however many long years, chiseling away at our sin as we become more and more like our Savior. As iron sharpens iron, so too, you sharpen me, Adam. I've grown so much this year. We've grown so much this year. And it's been the most thrilling one yet! Thank you for the best four years of my life. I can't say it enough how happy I am to be your wife and helper. It's not always easy, but it's always worth it. And now that we have Amelia, it's worth it that much more. You are an incredible father, Adam. I love you even more than I thought I could. Seeing you with her twists my heart in ways I didn't know possible and every time I hear her squeal in your arms, tiny butterflies swarm my tummy. I can't wait to show her what marriage is all about. To let her into the raw, vulnerable side of marriage and for her to realize that one day, it'll completely be worth it for her as well. Life is so much better than I could've ever imagined it would be when I met you. Not because of anything else, other than the man you are. You are my best and closest friend, an incredible father, and my greatest treasure. I love you with all of my heart and am still honeymoon-stage crazy about you. Happy Fourth Anniversary, Adam. You are absolutely wonderful.

To celebrate four years, we stuck (mostly) to the traditional gift of the fourth year of marriage: fruit! It was a challenge to get creative with this one, but we managed! To begin our day, I took Adam to a local Miami organic smoothie and waffle breakfast cafe place called "Ten Fruits." (Score)! We were served quite possibly one of the best waffles on the planet. And the acai bowl we shared? Just ask Amelia...she'll tell you how delicious it was!

Ohhhh! Yum!
We gave her the littlest tiny taste of our acai bowl and after some confused, intrigued, and stunned faces, she didn't mind it so much! But Mama and Dada were very happy with our Ten Fruits experience! So so so so yummy!!

A great start to our "Pear-fect Day."
Ha!

Then, we were off to the next surprise...Daddy and Millie in the lead!

And I was pleasantly surprised when we showed up to Verizon because Adam decided to gift me with a new Apple iPhone, which we'll receive in a few weeks! I see what you did there, Hun. Hey! Apples are fruits, so it counts!

While he zeroed in on Apples, I chose pears. And since Adam and I make the perfect PEAR, I decided to surprise him with a pear of new shoes! Mwah!

And though I had dinner plans already set, Adam overrode my idea with an even sweeter one. The guy is mostly terrible at surprises, but this time, he did everything right...and better! He hired a "driver" to escort us to a candlelit dinner...and when the driver showed up, I couldn't stop laughing! Uncle Scott!! His look complete with a Goodwill limo hat and a black sports coat! Ha! I love that he was involved in our special day. Scott was a big part of our fourth year and we're so thankful for his friendship and heart!

Daddy treated us to Capital Grille...including dessert! Mama was in heaven. And though it had nothing to do with fruit, it was a sweet expression of his love, and I was so grateful.

Full tummies. Full hearts.
I love you, sweet family of mine.
Happy Four, Adam. You are the love of my life and everything to me.

  2. So enjoyed walking through the day with you. Thanks for the journey. It was better than a bowl of "peach" ice cream. It was very a"pealing" and as delicious as a bowl of "cherries". In other words a very "fruitful" day. Blessings and love to our sweet Conley family. You take the "fruit"cake. Love you to the moon and back!
