Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Seventy-Two

The Anticipation

It might as well have been Christmas morning in our home yesterday.
Well, it sorta was.
Remember the 25 days of Christmas gifts our Aunt made for Amelia? Well, the gifts finally arrived! And not only were the 25 days of crafty Christmas items inside, but so was everything else...personalized with a little note!
S-Aunt-a Kim for the win!
I can't even begin to imagine the time, work, creativity, and love it took to put this together. We - the three of us - are so grateful for the heart of our Auntie and the excitement she shares over our precious baby Millie. THANK YOU AUNT KIM! You are just the loveliest.

Daddy was gone all day yesterday.
5:30AM - 7:30PM
Not cool. Especially since it was Amelia's one-week birthday.
(How has it already been a week?!)
So naturally, as punishment for making us miss him so much, he was put on diaper duty.
(Is it completely mad that I think him changing her diaper is the cutest thing?!)

No wait, this is the cutest thing.

No no no, this. This is the cutest thing.
My heart's never felt so full.
I love you, little family.

My Precious Amelia,
From 40 weeks pregnant to 7 days postpartum, it's incredible what a week can do. It's incredible what the female body can do! Yes, yours too someday!
Sweetheart, thank you for being so good to me all those weeks ago. You made pregnancy every bit fun, exciting, and completely rewarding, and though I do miss those little kicks, jabs, and dances from within, I LOVE watching you a million times more from out here. You are the sweetest, most gentle and beautiful girl I've ever met. You (and Daddy) make me feel like the luckiest woman alive. And I can't believe you're mine.
Lord, thank you for this child.
She's perfect.

I'll love you always, Millie.
  Always.
Love, Mama
