Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Eighty-One

The(re's) No Such Thing as a Schedule

We started getting her ready at 1 o'clock yesterday.
Amelia and I had a date to go on last night and she was a lot stinky.
(Adam and I realized today that we missed her armpits. Holy stank arms. Oops. Parenting lesson 549: don't forget to wash the baby pits)

Our date was set for 6PM. When it finally rolled around, she was all ready to go...but me, not even close.
With half my hair done and a nursing baby on my chest, I ate dinner on our bed and tried to maintain my composure. Being late isn't my thing so much. Turns out though, babies don't run on the clock and we were late. And getting later.

It was maybe 6:30 (my hair still not done) by the time Adam suggested that I just leave her with him and Scott and run to the event real quick. The coercion worked...I left my 16-day-old baby in the hands of her father - alone - for the first time ever. Uh. Scary. Actually, terrifying. They did great though. Amelia slept the whole time and didn't even notice I was gone (for 45 minutes).
Good job Daddy and Uncle Scott! But I don't know how many more times that'll be happening...
