The 40 Week (and one day) Appointment
Aaaaaaand....still no Baby Conley.
However, Mama and Dan are here, so that made up for Little Girl's "delayed" arrival!! I am so excited to have them with us - especially yesterday because Daddy couldn't make the appointment. It's the first one Adam's ever missed, and though we were completely bummed, at least I wasn't alone. (I did have Dad on the phone though, so he was sorta there!)
Yesterday's appointment went mostly like the others - my blood pressure, weight, and heart rate were taken, my urine was tested, and my uterus measured (39cm). Elizabeth also used the doppler to listen to our Girls' heart rate - 132 bpm - and Grandma was so happy to hear it!! She's in position and ready to go!! We have a healthy baby in there...and hopefully she doesn't make us wait too too long to meet her!
I did have the option yesterday of having a standard small procedure done called "stripping my membranes" to possibly induce labor. Because I hadn't ever even heard of this before and because Adam wasn't there to decide with me and because we haven't made any sudden decisions this entire pregnancy, we chose not to have it done yet. We still have some time to wait on Baby, so I think that's what we'll do for now (and maybe it was a great choice because currently - at 9:59 on Wednesday night - I think I'm in the very beginning stages of labor!!!).
Can't wait to see what tomorrow holds!!
Glad you're here, Mommy and Dan!
