Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Sixty

The 39th Week

Dearest Little Daddy's Girl,
Welcome to Week 39 day 6!! Can you even believe it?! I can't. It's gone by so fast! Daddy and I are INSANELY anxious to meet you, it's almost unbearable! Nine months of dreaming about and praying over you and I can say with certainty that we're ready to finally hold you in our arms and love you as much as we know how to.

So, this week was just a bit hectic! We spent most of our time in Miami while Daddy worked and served in the community. He's such a good man, Baby Girl. You're just going to melt when you meet him. He's helped us more than I could've ever asked for during this pregnancy and we're more spoiled than we could've ever dreamed! We're a couple of lucky girls, you and me! Ok, back to the week...if you were just average length, you'd be around 20 inches (but we have very good reason to believe you're likely not average in this category), and probably weigh somewhere around 7 pounds! That's as heavy as a mini-watermelon, Poppy!

What else...oh! We didn't end up having an appointment with Elizabeth or Miriam this week - they were both attending births during our scheduled appointment on Thursday! It's going to be soon that they're attending ours and won't be able to make other Mommy's and Daddy's appointments...isn't that just so crazy!? I was a little bummed that we didn't get to meet up though - I had a few questions I wanted to ask, but I guess we'll just ask them on Tuesday when we see them next! Also, I weighed in at home, just to keep up with my weight gain - Mommy has put on 22.2 pounds so far! And I'm feeling great, Baby! At 39 weeks 4 days, I completed my 2 chin-ups (our coaches almost told me I wasn't allowed to do it, but I insisted and they caved...we're pretty persistent, the two of us!) and I'm so happy that I was able to reach my goal. I felt accomplished and proud of the work we've done together - we make a great team! The only thing that's been hard is getting comfortable at night. I really prefer sleeping on my back because it feels like my ribs are being crushed when I sleep on my sides...but then I learned that maybe sleeping on your back isn't the best thing for you or me, so I freaked out a little, which made sleeping even harder. I don't want to hurt you!! Oh, and my seasonal allergies are here once again - totally not ok with it. I've been sneezing all the time and it's really not comfortable either. You don't like it and I don't like it. So we need to figure out how to make these allergies leave me forever because I don't want to be pregnant with one of your siblings and have to sneeze 50 times a day all over again! Not fun! Finally, I'm experiencing more and more Braxton-Hicks than ever - they come quite often now and I'm just so thankful they're not painful!

Gosh, what an incredible pregnancy this has been! I hope you've been as comfortable in there as I've been out here. The Lord has already blessed us so abundantly these past nine months and I pray every day that as you grow from an itty bitty tiny baby and into a young little lady, that you'll rejoice in Who he is and what He's done for you. Nothing on Earth would bring more joy to our lives than that. Nothing.
We love you, Sweet Girl.
So much more than so much.
You're our little miracle and we can't wait to meet you.

Always all our love,
Mommy and Daddy

  3. So sorry you've been suffering with your allergies. Local raw honey, lemon & hot water might help. Elderberry syrup helps build your immunity. There are nasal gels that block pollens (there are many brands). http://allergieblock.co.uk/product.images/tmb-AllergieBLOCK20130219110504-.jpg
