Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Forty-Nine

The Time I Wanted to Throw the Truck Away

If there's possibly a silver lining to yesterday's events, it's in the timing. But even that's pushing it. Lately, we've been noticing that the truck's A/C hasn't been cooling like normal. Kill me. It's been pushing 75 degrees of cold air at best...and the very last thing I want in South Florida right now is an air conditioner that doesn't work while bringing home a newborn. Reluctantly, we had no other choice but to bring it to Ford. I will NOT put my little Chubby Cheeks into a hot car on her first trip home from the birthing center. Not happening. So sure enough, the blend door actuator and the AC evaporator are goners...a fancy way of saying the AC is toast. Burnt toast. The worst kind.

Without any other choice, we signed $1500 of our wallet away, and in return, got a functioning air conditioner. In my opinion, a 3 1/2-year-old AC unit should NOT need a replacement yet, but hey, what do I know. I'm just a housewife with a big black truck and a credit card. Uhhhhh.
At least I have cold air. At least I have cold air. At least I have cold air.
If I say it fifteen hundred times straight, maybe I'll feel better about the whole ridiculous situation?
...Nope, still mad.

And by the way, is it normal that an hour's worth of labor at Ford costs $105.95?? Shoot, give me a wrench and a bunch of mechanical schooling and I'll work for half that!
