Day One Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty-Seven

The 35 Week Appointment

I can't believe we only have five weeks left!!
It's getting more and more real by the day and our excitement level is growing exponentially!
Yesterday, we had our 35th week appointment with Elizabeth - one of the two midwives on staff at our birthing center. From now on until Baby Conley comes, we'll be seeing the midwives once a week. These visits will consist mostly of collecting a urine sample, my weight, and my blood pressure. They'll also listen to Baby's heart rate (it's as strong as ever!) and measure the length of my uterus - which is actually measuring a centimeter smaller than the average uterus at 35 weeks. It was at 34 centimeters yesterday, which is within the healthy range of size, but I just figured that if anything, it would've been bigger not smaller!

We got a chance to ask a lot more questions yesterday and feel more confident than ever in the choice of our birth plan. The midwives here are so supportive and thorough in their care for us, which has created an environment that we feel completely safe and ready to flourish in.
These next few weeks are gonna fly by...and Baby Girl, we're ready for you whenever you decide to come!
