The Best Way to Ring in the New Year...
...is by celebrating the covenant of marriage between two beautiful people!
We are so excited and happy for you, Lucas family!
The Happiest New Year 2015 wishes to all our friends and family!
We're looking forward with great anticipation to all the new beginnings 2015 will surely bring, and will cherish this past year with the biggest smiles.
Turns out: 2014 was an incredible year for the Conley family.
We started it all off on our first cruise to the Bahamas - a trip we'll never forget! Adam soon after went into his second Big League Spring Training Camp and got the opportunity to travel to Panama to play in the Legend Series, hosted by Mariano Rivera. He fought hard for a spot on the Marlins roster, but ultimately was sent to AAA New Orleans, where we made our home for season. With HUGE expectations for 2014, we were looking forward to a possible call-up to Miami later in the year. And that's when he was sent to the Disabled List. We were so bummed at the time, but looking back, our FIVE stressful moves in those 6 weeks came with the best news we'd ever received: we were pregnant! Praise the Lord! Suddenly - and literally - new life was growing in us and we were so excited to start this new chapter of our lives together. But first, we had a goal to accomplish: finish the season healthy and strong. After healing from his flexor strain, we went back to NOLA and tried desperately to catch up on the 6 weeks of season he'd lost. But things with baseball seemed to only get worse. At the time, we were confused and very frustrated as Adam struggled to find his success. But again, as we look back on that time, we can see the blessings that flowed from the sadness. He was send to the Disabled List for the second time in July, later learning that he'd been sidelined by a bone bruise. It was a hard pill to swallow - the DL twice in one season when he's never been hurt before - but because of all the time he had to take off in 2014, his arm is completely fresh, healed, and more anxious than ever to throw again! And not only is his arm more rested than it's ever been, more importantly, Adam and I got to settle into an "offseason" routine (and home) here in Jupiter much earlier than we ever thought we would - a definite blessing, considering we're expecting our first child!! In 2014, we also celebrated our third wedding anniversary (on horseback in the ocean), started chiropractic care (it's completely changed our lives!), celebrated the marriage of our sister, Ellie, attended another Professional Athletes Outreach Christian conference, shared our faith in ways we never have before, and Adam finally hunted with his dad again. In total, 2014 saw us move seven times, visit 13 states, pass 50,000 miles on the truck, house one roommate, and...even saw me wear 4 inch heels to a New Years Wedding Party at SEVEN months pregnant!! (Ouch). We're happier than we've ever been, more mature and excited in our faith than we've ever been, and more in love than we've ever been. I married a man that makes every single day worth looking forward to, which makes it easy to look to 2015 with an overwhelming amount of anticipation and gladness. Praise God for the beautiful memories, lessons, and blessings that came out of 2014. We are so thankful.
