The Greatest Gift
Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. It reminds us of the humble birth of the King of Kings...the Savior who was born in a dirty, lowly stable because the world made no room for Him anywhere else. He chose to come this way not because He couldn't have been born somewhere marvelous, but by entering the world the way He did, everyone on Earth - regardless of their status in life - would be welcomed to experience His redeeming love. A gift completely free. No one is too poor, too shameful, too lonely, too misunderstood, too dirty, too helpless or too hopeless to share in the love of the Father, to be rescued into his Kingdom. Jesus came to meet us where we are, to love us where we are - the Greatest Rescue of all time.
And more than anything else in this world, that is the Greatest Gift I could ever receive.
"Jesus asks for far more than you ever though, but offers more than you ever dreamed."
-Tim Keller
We celebrated Christ's birth alongside friends who've become like family, for the second year in a row. It was beautiful. It was peaceful. It was everything we needed to feel at home.
Thank you Donna (and Bill) for opening your doors, your hearts, and your sweet, sweet family to us. We love you dearly and are grateful always for your servanthood.
Merry Christmas 2014, family and friends!
We love you!
