Day One Thousand One Hundred and Nineteen

The Conley Shower

Here I am (Adam) sporting my latest in fashion, a giraffe hooded bath towel. More important than my unborn child's towel though, is the quilt I'm holding up. Unbeknownst to me, that quilt was handmade by my great grandmother, before she passed away in late 1993. Bare with me here, my grandpa's mother quilted it, and now, it will be passed to my child.  It was handmade by his/her great, great grandmother. We aren't sure when she actually made it, but because of the year she died, we can say for sure its over 20 years old. Kendall and I were amazed at the gift, and so grateful to pass it on to our firstborn child! Thank you Ruth Blue, I never knew you, but we are so grateful for your talents, love, and support for children. Children are a blessing, and we couldn't imagine a more meaningful gift to give our little one.

Kendall and I are so thankful for our families love and support, for all the sacrifices they made to come to Spokane for our baby shower and Ellie's wedding. We ate, laughed, and celebrated the coming addition to the family. We also played a game where you had to guess how big Kendall's baby bump is...

Step 1: Everyone estimated the length of streamer it would take to go around her waist/hips.

Step 2: Measure Kendall's baby bump.

Step 3: Compare the lengths.

And the winner was…

Daddy!

Can't wait to meet our little Conley!
And a special thank you to Ellie (who's wedding was the day after our shower) and to my mother-in-law Heather, who put together such a beautiful celebration for us and Babe. We love you both so much and are grateful for your sacrifices.
