Day One Thousand One Hundred and Thirty

The Big Reveal!!

Our Little Baby Conley!!!
My heart!
Look at that cutest little nosey!
That perfect rounded head!
That little upper lip!
Even those teeny ribs are adorable!
I can't even try to stop smiling!

We had our 21 week anatomy scan with a perinatologist yesterday.
They took a hundred measurements; every bone, every organ, the umbilical cord, all the fluids, my cervix, the placenta, Baby's heart rate (142) and weight (14oz), and finally we found out...

Little Baby Conley
IS A LITTLE BABY GIRL!
Oh my gosh, we're having a girl!!!!!
We're having a girl!
She's a girl!!!!!
What a miracle!!

And she's the healthiest, most active little thing around!

Daddy and Mama are thrilled! We were completely surprised at the news; Adam was convinced all along that Baby Conley was a boy, and he had me almost totally convinced too. But the rest of my family and most of our friends just knew she was a little lady, and wow, were they right!! We are so excited to meet our precious Answered Prayer and can't wait to learn and grow with her...and to celebrate and cherish her as the worthy and valuable child of God that she is.

We love you, tiny girl!
You are so special to us already.
And I don't think I could've ever asked for a better surprise.
Thank you for being such a sweetheart to me.
You've made pregnancy fun, easy, and completely rewarding.
Your little kicks make us smile.
Your punches make us laugh.
And just this once, thank you also for your brief immodesty. We really appreciate it!
You can go back to crossing your legs now, though!! Ha!
Only 18 1/2 more weeks until we get to finally meet you, precious baby!

Oh, and guess what?! To celebrate, we threw you your first party!!
Everyone was so anxious to find out who you were, so after we got home from the doctor, we made some dinner, got a bunch of balloons (like 90 of them), and finally got the AC to work (hallelujah!). Then our friends started trickling in! They were a little confused by the yellow balloons - shouldn't they be blue or pink?! No way! That would be too easy! We thought: if they wanted the news…they had to work for it! Because you're worth it, Little Missy! But what was the work? What did they have to do? I simply told them to figure it out...but they didn't have a clue where to start. Then suddenly, someone just started pulling balloons down, and ah ha! they'd discovered the game…on just one of the balloons, Daddy and I wrote the letters G-I-R-L…and that was the one they needed to find! Sure enough, you were the very first balloon Auntie Lara pulled down and then…the secret was out! Everyone cheered and hollered for you (even baby Colton) and the excitement lasted the whole night long.

You are cherished by so many, Baby Girl!
Kisses and hugs from your Ma and Pa!
XOXOXO
We just adore you.
