Day One Thousand and Eight

The Dad

A few years ago, Adam and I released balloons at the beach as a kind of present to Johnie, and a way for us to finally say, "we know you're here with us." We found our way back to the same beach a few miles north and wrote Johnie a note to let him know we're thinking about him. The tide rose and the wave quickly washed away our letter in the sand, but our hope in God's saving grace won't be shaken. Our faith is that God is unchanging, completely perfect, and everlasting. Our message to Johnie was washed away, but God's love endures forever, and thats all Johnie needs anymore.

Happy Father's Day, Dad.
And to all the men in my life - Papa, Larry, Dan, and Mel - who are loved and cherished beyond words, Happy Father's Day to you too.
