The Open Door
It's overwhelming to think of the day I met the Lord and continually, I revel in all the ways He's provided since the moment I decided to turn from who I was and trust in who He is. Life itself might not be easier, but life in Him is joyous beyond comparison.
When we got the news about Adam heading to Jupiter, it was hard. Littered with unknowns. We didn't know what was happening or what was wrong with his arm. We didn't know how long he'd be there or what the doctors would report. We didn't know when we'd see each other next or where we'd stay if I came. The first few days were uncomfortable. But not long after, everything fell into place…and it's brought us great joy.
Adam got to rest his arm.
His results came back clear.
He led 9 students to the Lord.
He shared the gospel with teammates.
He was able to borrow a car.
I flew in.
We found a place to stay.
We celebrated his birthday with friends.
We found a second place to stay.
Every day, we've witnessed God's hand at work, leading us and providing for us relentlessly. I'm in awe of all the doors he's opened and grateful for the ones he's closed. Thankfully though, one of the doors that's remained opened this time was the McCartys! Literally. They've had a trip planned to Mississippi for the exact date that Adam and I needed to find a second Jupiter bed to crash. So, when they offered their home to us for this entire next week, our jaws dropped. The perfect timing. Our jaws dropped even further when we walked in last night and found a personalized thank you note and a gift card sitting on the counter. Uh…rewind. Come again? They're the ones doing the HUGE favor for us, right?! Apparently, they're calling us 'house sitters,' and thought it appropriate to thank us for our help.
Incredible. This life is incredible. And so is our God.
Thank you, Sondra and Dennis for choosing us to babysit your house. We're honored you'd pick us out of everyone else ;) ;)
We were blessed to have you here while we were gone. So happy it worked so well and you know our door is ALWAYS open anytime you need a place to lay your sweet heads or just want to come for a visit. Love you both!
