Day Six Hundred and Eighty-Two

The Unplanned

Our last day in Daytona didn't go exactly as planned.
But as nomadic baseball wives, we don't necessarily have the luxury of making definitive plans...so when the Jeep crapped out on us in the middle of the TJ Maxx parking lot, we rearranged those plans and did what any pair of self-sufficient ladies would do...we jumped it. All by ourselves. You bet! Just Sue and I...doing man-stuff for all the world to see. My husband would be so proud of me. Right Honey?!

Turns out that poor Jeepy's battery was dead. So dead.
And the circular clamps connecting to the terminals: completely stripped. So, after our stop at Napa Auto (where she bought a new battery), we took the Jeep to a mechanic and replaced the clamps. It was a busy morning, but after 3 jumps, a couple hundred dollars, one two-year warranty, and some TLC, the Jeep is fixed and running like a champ.

And we did it all without the help of our boys...in a town neither of us had ever been.
Wahoo! I love my Sue girl. We can make light of any situation, and I love that about our friendship. It's just easy. I miss you already Susan! XOXOXO Thank you for 3 days of smiles and laughs.

On my way out of town, I passed the famous Daytona Speedway, where the Daytona 500 is raced.
Hmmmm...I wonder if they'll let me in to take a picture...or two? Maybe?
So, I stopped. And obviously, the answer to my question was yes!

I may or may not have gone past the sign...oopsies.
But I needed the picture above, and that could only be accomplished by breaking a rule. So it was ok. Yeah, I'll stick to that. So fun!

And just for smiles...
My Grama sent me this picture of Papa yesterday and I couldn't stop laughing.
Put a sweat band on and spray paint patio furniture in the wind and guaranteed, this is what your face will look like too! Hahahaha! Gosh I love this man!
