Day Six Hundred and Twenty-Four

The Oldest European Port
(And Adam's Tenth Start)

Yesterday, Mommy and Dan got to watch Adam pitch professionally for the very first time. And no, they don't freak out like I do...just in case you were wondering. Though he didn't get the W, they had a lot of fun seeing him "live" and my man did manage to show off for them, just a little bit. In 4 2/3 innings..Adam's line:
7H, 4R, 4ER, 2HR (oops), 0BB, 8K
Yeah, he gave up some hits...and yeah, he gave up some runs. (I'm learning that that happens in baseball). But whoa! Look at that BB to K ratio! Atta boy! We like those Ks Adam!

Tired and sore, we drug Adam to the town of St. Augustine, Florida right after his 93-pitch start (thanks for being such a good sport, Honey!). 30 miles South of Jacksonville sits the oldest "continuously occupied European-established settlement and port in the continental United States." Thanks Wikipedia! Seriously though, St. Augustine is a really neat place...and we didn't barely get a chance to even scratch the surface of it! I'm going to drag Adam back there a second time one of these days! (Hehehe) Here's some things we saw/did:

Fed birds at dinner through a flap in the wall. They're crazy for their bread. And they know you have it.

The town from the bridge.

Pirate ships (and people in love).

More people in love.

A beacon of hope. And an immaculate sunset.
