Day Five Hundred and Seventy-One

The Safe Haven

Our HOME. Clearly.
And yes, I'm really good with my computer's track pad. Not! :)
We're high up there, but feel so incredibly safe and comfortable in our downtown condo.

And this very well could be the reason why.
Not only is our complex a fortress of sorts, with all kinds of blocked entries, gates, and keypads preventing unwelcomed guests from access, we have these guys right outside our door...at all times! Count 'em...that's twelve policemen on our street...and more beyond this photo.
Buuuuuut...I did learn this relatively unsettling news: the building directly across the street...that's part jail. Sigh. At least there's lots of good guys around!
Mom and Grama, you'll find comfort in this too: at night, our concierge will walk us to our car in the garage if we ask them to :) So I've got that going for me too! I'm trying to be more positive, less anxious, and more dependent on the Lord for comfort, peace, protection, and wisdom as I get settled into this new city. Yesterday, I had a rough go at this, but today (cheating again) I'm feeling much better :)
